Overview
The journey
The Do Dham Yatra is a sacred journey to Kedarnath and Badrinath, high in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand — a pilgrimage that blends devotion with the grandeur of nature.
Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, sits among towering peaks beside the Mandakini River. Badrinath, the abode of Lord Vishnu, lies along the Alaknanda and is framed by the Nar and Narayan ranges. Nearby is Mana Village, often called the last village of India.
Spread across three nights, this itinerary gives each Dham its own day — time for darshan, rest and reflection rather than a rushed transit.

Timeline
Day by day

Day 0
Arrival — Dehradun
The Yatra begins with your arrival in Dehradun, where you are greeted and picked up from the airport or railway station and transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the evening a comprehensive briefing outlines the itinerary and instructions. During this session you are weighed individually and receive duffle bags to pack essential items (maximum 5 kg per person). Overnight stay and dinner at your hotel in Dehradun.

Day 1
Dehradun → Kedarnath
Check out from your hotel and depart from Sahastradhara Helipad at 10:30 hrs. The helicopter takes you to Sitapur Helipad, from where you take a shuttle to Kedarnath. Arriving at Kedarnath Helipad around 11:45 hrs, you are just 500 metres from the temple. VIP darshan takes approximately 2 hours. After darshan, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
- 1030 HRSDeparture from Sahastradhara Helipad (Dehradun)
- 1145 HRSArrival at Kedarnath Helipad
Accommodation available at Kedarnath Dham is modestly above average. While clean and functional, guests are encouraged to maintain realistic expectations regarding comfort and amenities due to the remote location.

Day 2
Kedarnath → Badrinath
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the helipad for the flight to Badrinath Dham. On arrival at Badrinath helipad, you are escorted to your hotel for check-in. Dedicated ground staff assist with VIP darshan at the Badrinath temple. An evening visit to Mana village is highly recommended — the last village on the Indian side of the border with China.
- 1100 HRSDeparture from Sitapur Helipad
- 1130 HRSArrival at Badrinath Helipad

Day 3
Badrinath → Dehradun
After breakfast, check out and drive to the helipad at Badrinath ji. Estimated arrival at Sahastradhara is around 11:00 hrs / 14:00 hrs. After reaching Sahastradhara helipad, guests collect their luggage and are dropped at the airport or railway station, marking the end of the package.
- 1015 / 1315 HRSDeparture from Badrinath Helipad
- 1100 / 1400 HRSArrival Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun

Passenger Guidelines
Before you fly
Fixed flight timings
The tour operates on fixed daily departure times for each destination. Passengers must adhere to the scheduled Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) for each day. Failure to do so will be marked as a NO-SHOW.
Infants and children
Children above the age of 2 years are considered a full ticket. Infants below 2 years / 12 kg travel free of charge. Age may be verified against a birth certificate.
Identification
Aadhaar card copies must be shared by all Indian passengers; a passport is required for foreign nationals.
Darshan access
All helicopter passengers are permitted VIP darshan from inside the temple. Where the administration imposes restrictions on darshan inside the Garbha Griha due to heavy rush, darshan is performed from outside only.
Medical fitness
Guests are advised to obtain a fitness certificate from a doctor before travelling to high-altitude sectors. The right is reserved to refuse carriage to any person considered unfit for travel or a risk to the aircraft or persons on board; no refund is applicable in such cases.
Personal preparation
Carry a small oxygen bottle as a precaution — it is available locally at medical shops. Day temperatures are normal but nights are cold, so woollens are essential. Carry your own medication. Insurance coverage is not provided; pilgrims are strongly advised to arrange their own. All baggage and personal belongings remain the responsibility of the client at all times.
Donations and porterage
Any donations, tips to pitthu, palki/pony and porter charges are borne by the passengers. Dedicated ground crew is present at each Dham for guidance and assistance.
Weight Policy
- Passengers must provide accurate body weight at the time of booking. Any weight discrepancy discovered during travel that exceeds the aircraft weight capacity of 450 kg will result in the affected passenger(s) being de-boarded, with the heli-tour cancelled for them without refund.
- Weighing at the time of boarding is mandatory. The pilot will not allow boarding if weight exceeds what was conveyed at booking, and passengers may be shuffled between aircraft to manage safe weight distribution in the hills.
- Excess weight is charged at INR 2,000 per kilogram for passengers above 75 kg. Any variance is collected either at the hotel after weighing, before the day of boarding, or at the helipad prior to boarding.
Baggage Allowance
Only 5 kg baggage per passenger is permitted. Large suitcases cannot be accommodated — baggage space inside the helicopter is very limited, and duffle bags are provided during the briefing. Baggage allowance is based on the total body weight of the group; if the combined body weight exceeds 450 kg, additional charges apply for transporting excess luggage by road, shared among all passengers in that helicopter.
Weather & Operational Advisory
Flying in the Himalayas
Helicopter flying in hilly terrain is adversely affected by unpredictable factors: adverse weather, delayed air traffic clearances and permissions, VVIP movements, valley flying by the Indian Air Force (NOTAM), sudden technical issues, illness of the flying crew, or delayed reporting of passengers at the helipads. Passengers should be prepared for unexpected events and inconvenience in such scenarios.
Any extension proposed by passengers is considered only at extra cost and subject to operational viability. Additional night halt charges arising from bad weather or force majeure are payable by passengers directly to the hotels.
If guests stranded at any Dham choose to cancel and descend before their scheduled return date, road transport can be arranged, but the cost is borne by the guest on a direct payment basis. No refunds apply where guests cancel and return mid-tour.
Operator Responsibility
All helicopter flights are operated by licensed third-party aviation operators. The assigned operator remains responsible for aircraft operation, airworthiness, crew, technical matters, flight safety, weather-related flying decisions, operational delays, aircraft changes and cancellations. ASR Aviation acts as the booking, coordination and concierge partner.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & rescheduling
- Before 30 days — INR 10,000 per person
- 30 – 20 days — 25% of total package cost
- 20 – 10 days — 50% of total package cost
- 10 – 0 days — No refund
Force majeure & bad weather
- If you are affected by bad weather on any particular day of the 3 days, an attempt will be made to complete the darshan the next day. If it becomes completely impossible to visit a Dham due to bad weather, only the flying-time cost of approximately INR 20,000 per Dham per seat is refunded.
- In the event of flight cancellations or delays due to bad weather, technical issues or force majeure, liability is not accepted for the cancelled or delayed flights; refunds are made per the refund policy. No compensation is provided for accommodation, transportation, meals or other extra travel expenses.
- If departure does not take place from Dehradun for the above reasons, the tour is considered cancelled and refunded as per policy. Guests may instead reschedule for the next available date, applying the unused amount to the fresh booking; any additional cost is borne by the passengers.
- When planning your tour, keep one additional day at hand at Dehradun over and above the 03N/04D period in case weather deteriorates after the tour commences.
Payment & terms
- A 50% deposit of the tour cost is required to process and confirm the booking. The balance is payable 15 days before the departure date.
- Passengers may only board or begin the tour after completing full and final payment.
- Bookings can be rescheduled to a later date subject to availability with a 10% additional fee, if requested at least 15 days before the journey date. Rescheduling requests within 15 days are treated as cancelled and a fresh booking is made subject to availability.
- Any changes in applicable taxes, government levies, royalties or BKTC charges will result in an adjustment of the tax amount, charged accordingly.
- Disputes relating to the legality, interpretation, application or performance of the service or its terms are subject to the laws of Uttar Pradesh jurisdiction.
Carriage is subject to the operator's regulations relating to the conditions of Non-International Carriage (Passenger and Baggage) framed in accordance with The Carriage by Air Act, 1972 and the notification regarding application of carriage which is non-international. Liability for damage sustained in the event of death or wounding of a passenger, any other bodily injury, or damage to registered baggage during carriage by air is governed by sections 4, 5, 6 and the rules contained in the Second Schedule of the Carriage by Air Act 1972, with exceptions, adaptations and modifications as notified by the Government of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and as amended from time to time.
